Longarm Rental
Rates & Times
Rates vary based on machine size. The Amara 20 is our larger machine with a faster stitch speed. The Moxie XL is the budget option.
Rental Certification
All renters are required to complete a certification class and are required to re-certify if they have not rented from us in the last 90 days.
Certification classes are limited to 4 students and include a bobbin case you will need for your rental days.
Things You Need
- Quilt Tops
- Backing (with 4-6" extra fabric on each side)
- Batting (can be purchased in store)
- Certified Handi-Quilter Bobbin case purchased from Running Doe (included in the initial training fee)
Things We Provide
- Longarm- we have 2 Handi- Quilter machines available for rental.
- Thread- we have a large assortment of 40wt poly Glide threads available to use.
- Oil- it is recommended to oil the bobbin casing after each bobbin.
- Technical Support- you are expected to be able to quilt start to finish on your own, but we are nearby to help in a pinch.
How Much Will You Get Done?
This varies based on quilter's experience, quilt size, & quilting density. We always recommend bringing more than you expect to get to just in case. Your first solo visit you may only finish 1, but after a few days you may be able to get more done.
Custom quilting takes exponentially more time than E2E depending on complexity.
*Renters are not guaranteed to finish a certain amount of quilting. Some experienced quilters with smaller quilts & less involved quilting designs may finish up to 4 on a really productive day, others may only get through 1 quilt (2-3 is average). Tension troubles, computer errors, thread breaks, etc happen. They are part of a normal quilting day for any longarm quilter (especially when learning) & do not entitle the renter to any “make-up time”
